Royal Blog Tour - Medallion

Welcome to Massachusetts. I hope that you are enjoying your travels around cyberspace and our beautiful Stampin' Up! catalog with the LateNightSamper's Royal Blog Tour!!

Today I am featuring the background stamp Medallion. As soon as I saw the new cover of our new catalog I knew that this would be the first new stamp that I would order.

Card #1 Catalog CASE

If you have studied the catalog carefully, as I know many of you have, you may recognize this first card. This is a CASE of the card on page 5 of the catalog but of course enhanced a bit. My friend Kathy and I were working away in my craft room and discussing ideas for the Medallion stamp. She mentioned this card and of course immediately had a couple of ideas of how to make it her own.

So she surprised me. I left to drive my DD teen somewhere and when I cam back this was sitting on my space!! What a great surprise!! The difference between the two cards is that Kathy stamped the image on mellow moss using versamark and then embossed it with clear EP. She then cut out the interior circle and layered it onto the sahara image. We added the filligree brad to it. I also played around with the rhinestone brads which looked great in the center too!
Then I added the faux stitching to the side with a brown marker and the paper piercing kit.

Cards 2 & 3 - Metallic Medallion

This next card is my Anna Griffin inspired version. During my stampin' career I have worked with my friend Debbie at her stationery store Yours Truly in Chelmsford, MA, where I have made custom wedding invitations. I love Anna Griffin's papers and designs which are beautiful when worked into a wedding theme.
This is the medallion image stamped in copper on a sheet of designer paper from the Thoroughly Modern stamp set. I couldn't decide between the copper or gold with this paper so tried both!! The background is the new color soft Suede.

Candy Box

For my last sample I used the Sissix matchbox die and our window sheets. I used Staz on ink to stamp the medallion image onto the window sheet. The base of the box is made with the new color Rich Razzleberry. The striped base is made from the Designer paper Cottage Wall.
