Blogger's Challenge #204 - Spring Flowers

Good Morning!  This week's Blogger's Challenge is Spring Flowers.

I am posting a little early this week as I am heading off to Hartford tomorrow for Stampin' Up! Regionals!  I am soooo excited to spend the day with 3 of my downline and about 300 other Stampin' Up! demos!  I can't wait to hear about all the great new products that will be coming out this spring!

So I am borrowing a couple of ideas from my friend and downline Deanna Czarneicki.  I had my downline meeting on Tues. night where we all share ideas for things that we have made recently.  Deanna has been playing around with the Build a Blossom stamp set and punch and has designed some beautiful things!

So I am showcasing those today...

The first is a card that is made with River Rock and Concord Crush.

The second item is a votive candle that she put inside a treat cup.  Deanna used this for a hostess gift for a recent party that she had.  I know that I am going to copy that idea!

The third is a scrapbook page that Deanna designed.

What incentive to break out this stamp set and punch!

Have a great weekend!

Blogger's Challenge #203

Happy Friday!  Today's Blogger's Challenge is a birthday theme.  I decide that I wanted to use the Ice Cream Parlor Designer Paper and Accents Pack with the coordinating ribbon and buttons to make a few cards.

Tonight is my Bring your Own Project Night and I thought that these cards would be perfect for the teens that are coming over tonight to stamp!

I love the bright colors of this paper and coordinating elements!!

Blogger's Challenge - Emboss Me

Good Morning. This week's Blogger's Challenge is to make something with embossing.

Well - one of my stampin' friends is making favors for her sister's wedding. So she and I were talking through some ideas and it occured to me that the mini milk carton die cut in black and white would make some neat Bride & Groom favors...

So we tried it out!

For the Groom - we cut a small piece of white in a triangle shape, cut a small bow tie from a scrap of black and drew on buttons with a black pen.

For the Bride - we made a dress shaped pattern the same height as the box.  We stamped the bottom skirt section of the piece with the Bliss stamp set in silver and embossed it.  We added a white satin ribbon around the waist and a few pearl embellishements around the neck.

Each box is closed with ribbon that we tied in the back...
I just love the way these came out!!!

Don't forget to check out what my other friends on the blogger's challenge have made!

Valentine's Extravaganza - Blogger's Challenge

It's not too late to finish making those Valentine's for your special person for Monday!!  Stop by tonight or Sunday afternoon to work on some cards & packaging ideas for those candies!!

Well - I am trying to find time to get back into the Blogger's Challenge posts again.  This week's theme is Love.
This is a Valentine's fame that I made.  I was inspired by the Christmas frame that I received from my friend Dawn Burke at our annual Yankee swap.

I used the Love you Much set with the heart punches and glitter paper that is in the current mini catalog.  I just love that glitter paper!!  I can see some great projects for Memorial Day and 4th of July!!

I think that I will make one of these frames for each season/Holiday.

Have a great Valentine's Weekend!

Blogger's Challenge

Good Morning.  Or at least for another minute!  This week's challenge is to make an altered item.  This is an Advent Calendar that I made a couple of weeks ago for an upcoming class.

I will be teaching a class on making this calendar on Sunday Nov. 13th from 1 to 4pm.  So if you are interested in joining us, let me know.

I used an 18x20" artist's frame and covered it with square of Holly Jolly designer paper.  I attached favor tins that can be purchased in the wedding department of the local craft stores.

Then I added a little task to the inside of each tin.  What a great idea for families with kids.  Too bad my kids are now too old for this...

Don't forget to check out all the great things that my blogging friends have made.  I can't wait to see what everyone else has altered!

Have a great weekend!

Blogger's Challenge & Halloween

Good Morning,

This week Blogger's Challenge is to post something using black, orage and white..  Well - this weekend is my weekend on the Cape with my downline...  We always have a great time!  So my goal this weekend is to profile each of my downline members.  And....  Jeanne Nielsen is one of my downlines and just happened to have a Halloween themed event this week.  I actually did not have a chance to attend her event but saw these end projects after the fact.

For those of you that are regular followers of the Blogger's Challenge - you know that Jeanne's work is excellent and very detail oriented!  I absolutely love these projects!

I really can't tell you which of the projects is my favorite...  the first project is a beautiful card made with a great all purpose set - Greeting Card Kids.  She used the Halloween designer paper - Wicked Cool Specialty.   The second card and the candy holder are made with the Wicked cool stamp set. The candy holder is made with the Big shot tag die which has been folded to make the candy holder.

The two little boxes in the fourth picture are made with the candy wrapper die from the mini catalog.  For the orange box - Jeanne cut off the bottom of the candy wrapper to make a box.

What a great job Jeanne did!

Stay tuned.  I will post other work from other members of my downline throughout the weekend!

Don't forget to check out all of my blogger's friends!

Blogger's Challenge

Good Morning,

This week's theme for the Blogger's Challenge is a fall themed card..  I used the new stamp set French Foliage from the Holiday mini catalog.  This stipple look has always been one of my favorite looks.  I also used the textile embossing folder on the background layers.

I used mostly the new colors for this cards.  The card back is Cherry Cobbler, the layer is Cajun Craze and the acent color is more mustard.  The leaves are stamped onto Sahara sand with Cherry cobbler ink.  I used the Log Cabin Smooch spray to add a little glitter to the leaves..

Thanks for checking out my card!!

Have a great weekend!

Blogger's challenge

This week's Blogger's Challenge is a sketch challenge.  Well I have limited supplies this week as I am back on  Cape Cod for Labor Day weekend.
I brought a couple of the new Designer Series Papers and the Fairy stamp set from the new catalog.  This is the Sweet and Sour Designer Paper and the stamp set - "A Little bit of Magic".  If I were home I would add a little glitter to the image...  I'll do that on Tues. and re-post again with the upgraded version with glitter.

I also am missing a blender pen so had my watercolor pencils but not my blender pens so I used a paint brush with a little water.  Not quite as easy to use.

I can't wait to see what my other blogging friends have created with this sketch!  Have a great weekend!

Blogger's Challenge #164

This week's blogger's challenge is a color challenge. Use red, yellow and green.

Well I needed a birthday card for my cousin's boy Ryan who just turned 1. His birthday party is tomorrow and Emily is working a cake for his party. I will post a picture when it is finished. All I can say is OMG...

So this is an Elmo Card that I made using my Big Shot scallop die and circle punches. The background is gable green cardstock that I embossed with the Happy Birthday embossing folder.

Stay tuned for the picture of the cake too!

Have a great weekend!

I have a couple of kids classes coming up.  This Tues. the 17th at the Dennis Public Library at 10am and Wed. the 25th at 3pm back in Tewksbury at my craft room!

Blogger's Challenge

This week's challenge is to use the colors white, black and a color of your choice.

I used the retired Bride Designer paper and sponged it with gray ink to get the swirls effect. I then cut the designer paper and a piece of black cardstock it with the lattice Big Shote die and layered these together. I saw this idea on Sandi MacIver's blog on one of the convention swaps that she received. I love the effect.

I used the Elements of Style stamp set and Perfect Plum ink to stamp the pattern on the circle. I layered this onto a scalloped circle. I used the new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder to emboss the layer of white.

Blogger's Challenge - Reuse & Recycle

This week's Blogger's Challenge was to recycle an item. I used a journal that I had picked up at the Doallr Store.

I covered the journal with retired Designer paper (I don't remember the name of the pattern...) and added a ribbon with a filagree brad to the end to make a bookmark.

This is a Recovery Journal for someone that was in a bad accident and needs to record her PT and progress. I have heard that she is doing much better!!

Check out what my other blogging friends have done.

Have a great weekend!

Blogger's Challenge

Well I am back in the blogging world again... after a crazy week.

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge. I used the new Designer paper Jolly Holiday to make a Christmas card. I know that it is only July but I am working on Christmas ideas for a Christmas in July class next week.

I used Dasher and stamped him in gold ink on Cherry Cobbler CS. I layered this onto very vanilla and then brushed the edges of the CS with Gold ink and gold embossing powder. I really like the "antiqued" look that it gave the center piece.

I do like the shade of the new Cherry Cobbler CS. A deeper red but not too deep. Not quite as purple as the purely pomegranite from 2 years ago.

I can't wait to see what my other blogging friends have made!  Have a great weekend1

Blogger's Challenge

I am back and have had some time to do some stamping again... This was from my technique class last night for the 4th of July...

I used the flower folds die and cut flowers in whisper white, pacific point (blue) and real red. I then used the Big Shot die to also cut stars. I used dimensionals to attach the flowers to skewers.

I can't wait to see what my other blogging friends have made for the 4th.

Have a great long weekend!

Blogger's Challenge - father's day

Today's Blogger's Challenge is for Father's Day.

I actually have been working on a couple of Father's Day ideas.  These are made with the retired set And Many Mower and the Noveau Chic deisgner paper.  The background cardstock is sage shadow which is one of the green's that is going away...

The item on the left is a paper bag that is covered and would be great for giving a treat to Dad.  The card is made with sahara sand cardstock and sage shadow.

The next set are some other Father's Day cards that I made using the Father's Day stamp from the set Eight Great Greetings..  The card on the left is made with the Neaveau Chic designer paper and the card on the right is made using the medallion stamp set on ballet blue cardstock.

I can't wait to see what my other blogging friends have made!  Have a great weekend!

Blogger's Challenge - graduation

This week's blogger's challenge is graduation... This is a card that I made for a couple of great girls that I know that have just graduated from high school.

Congratulations to my neighbor Erin who graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame and will be attending the University of New England in the fall. We have known Erin for most of her life! My Assistant in Sunday School, Jen Hogan, also graudated from Shawsheen Technical High School this weekend.

This card was made with the retired stamp set Great Grads. I stamped and embossed using white ink on certainly celery designer paper. This is layered on white, then riding hood red and then pacific point. Both colors are returning in- colors!! Yay!!!

Can't wait to see what my blogging friends have created!

Blogger's Challenge - post 152

Good Afternoon,
Well after some internet and phone issues I am back online and posting my project for this week.  This week we had a sketch challenge with the following sketch...

Well  - I was determined to use some of my new things from the new Summer Mini Catalog...  So I used Watercolor Trio with the Cottage Wall designer paper.  I also thought that Itty bitty bits would be perfect for this card since there are 3 embellishments on the side.  So....

I designed this first card and made embellishments with Itty Bitty bits - but the embellishments really didn't show well since I used the paper with the white background.  So... I made a second card with the same layout and used the pale plum background.  Same sketch - same paper and same stamps - just changed the color up a little...
I layered the punched images from Itty Bitty Bits onto 1/2" circles of certainly celery.  I can't wait to see whata all of my blogging friends have done.

Have a great weekend!
