Technostamper challenge 232

Happy Tuesday!!  Well this week I was determined to make a card and a post to my blog...  So here is the sketch for this week's Technostamper Challenge. 

 

 

 I used the new Frosty Friends stamp set from the Christmas catalog that you can order from tomorrow!!  Frosty Friends is stamped on a piece of whisper white cardstock and layered on a piece of gumball green.  The card base is also a piece of gumball green with a piece of Raspberry Ripple.  I then used the snowflake embossing folder to emboss the background with whisper white.

NOTE:  A little lesson that I learned -  Stamp your message on the lower left corner before you emboss the white background.  I didn't do this and tried to fill in my message with a marker and it just didn't come out well.

Here is a closeup of the snowmen.  Thanks to my SIL Sarah for coloring them in for me..  she is much better at watercoloring than I am...  LOL

The buttons are highlighted by the new mini brads in the catalog.  You could also use a little dazzling details to highlight the string of lights.

Technostamper Challenge 228

I needed to make a card for a beach themed wedding.  So... I choose Mary Jo's sketch for this week for my card...

 I used the retired Seaside Stamp set which is very similar to the new By the Seashore Set in the new Catalog.

I used Crumb Cake cardstock layered with vanilla cardstock.  to make the background on the vanilla cardstock, I embossed the piece with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I used a little pretty in pink ink on a dauber to add a little bit of color to the raised image.

I  then inked the starfish using pretty in pink ink and then used crumb cake ink over the pretty in  pink to give it a variety of color.  As we all know, shells are never just one color.  I love the combination of pink and the crumb cake.  The squares of designer paper are from the Comfort Cafe collection.  The ribbon is the victorian lace ribbon.

I wanted a card with a beachy theme.  I have been working on table cards and place cards for a beach themed wedding that is next weekend.  So I wanted the card to have the same theme as the cards.

Technostamper Challenge #2

This past Wednesday my friend Judy came over and made a couple of cards using Mary Jo's sketch for this week.

She used the new Papillion set in the new catalog with the new Butterfly punch and with Twitterpated Designer Paper.  I love the butterflies!!

Judy's second card uses the Sweet Shop designer paper.   I don't remember the name of this stamp set.  I believe that it was in last spring's mini catalog.   Very cute.

I am linking this back to Mary Jo's challenge since Judy doesn't have a blog of her own... One of these days I will get her blogging!

Technostamper Challenge 226

So school is officially out and tennis matches are over.  So back to stampin' and designing for me!!

I love going to the kids events, but they do take a lot of time!! So I am back to doing challenges again and playing with my new stamps and papers from the new catalog...  and we all know that I love Mary Jo's sketches!!  I have actually challenged a couple of the ladies from my downline to do her sketches each week...  I may have to start giving out a little surprise for the team member that does the most challenges in a  month!!.. Hummm...

Anyway, I am rambling again...  This is Mary Jo's sketch for this week. 

One of my favorite colors is Rich Razzleberry.  I just love this shade of purple.  When I saw the new Simply Scrappin' kit Razzleberry Splash, I just knew that I would have to make a card kit with this paper and die cuts.   I enhanced my card with a couple of rhinestones to add a  little bling.  Of course what is a card without bling?  The Phrase Inspire is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set.

I have designed several other cards using this Simply Scrappin' kit and will be offering this as a card kit.  Stay tuned!!

Technostamper Challenge 222

Good Morning - It is Monday and I am getting my challenge posted already!!  Yay!!

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge.   What could be better than playing with new toys?

Well I decided that I wanted to use some of my new things.  So I pulled out my new favorite designer paper, Comfort Cafe, from the upcoming catalog.  Doesn't this paper just look comfortable?  I will be using this a lot this fall!!

I modified the sketch a bit by turning it landscape.  I chose to make my card a folding card to get the layered effect on the sketch.

I didn't use a ribbon though as shown on the sketch.

I used one of the new stamp sets, Layered Labels that we were able to pre-order.  And what new stamp set wouldn't be complete without a new framelits set to cut out the images!!  The new framelits are the Apothecary Accents which coordinate perfectly with the Layered Labels stamp set.

I stamped the Heartfelt image on vanilla cardstock and cut it out with the framelit.  Then to frame the image, I cut a second piece from the Midnight muse cardstock.  If you have an odd shaped image and don't have a framelit to layer it, you can cut a second piece out of the color for the layer and cut the layer down the center.  Then offset just a little from the stamped image to create the layer.

The cardstock is the new Midnight Muse in-color.  Just a tad lighter than Night of Navy.  I like the color...  I then used a blender pen to pull some of the blue color along the edge of the filial design and added some small pearls to the design for a little dimension.

The Thank you is from the new Itty Bitty Banners set which also has a famelits set to match!  I just love framelits!  So easy to use and line up with stamped images for cutting.

I can't wait to see what others make with this sketch!!

Technostamper Challenge 220

Happy Friday!!  Well I am down to the wire and posting my challenge for the technostamper challenge this week!  I have used some of my new toys!  What could be better than new toys!  How about FREE new toys?  

This is one of the new sets from the upcoming catalog.  Betsy's Blossoms with Floral District designer paper.  This set and designer paper are part of the bundle of products that Managers receive for FREE with the new catalog release!  These are also a couple of the new in colors.  I used Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals with Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral.  I used a 1/2" and 3/4" circle punch to punch out the little flowers.

Technostamper Challenge - 219

 Happy Monday!!  I am really trying to be more proactive and do things in a more timely manner!

So today, I worked on a card using the Spring Fever Simply Scrappin' kit.  I love the bright spring colors of this kit and the designer papers...

A little different for me as there is no actual stamping on this card.  I used the die cuts to make the flower on the front and to make the piece along the bottom.

This card is made with Certainly Celery cardstock, melon mambo for the layers and so saffron for the bottom layer.   I used whisper white and embossed it with the swiss dot embossing folder under the flower dies.

Good Morning!! 

My challenge to myself and my team is to do the weekly Technostamper Challenge.  So I finished the card(s) on Wednesday and then didn't get around to posting them... so here they are!

As you know - sketches are my favorite method for designing cards.  I choose a stamp that fits the shape of the card and then select a designer paper and coordinating colors.  In this case, I pulled out my stash of Beau Chateau designer paper and found two piece in just the right size for a card front.  So I made two cards with the same sketch!

So this week, I used the Tea Shoppe set from the Occasions mini.  Remember that Monday is the last day to order from the mini catalog!  You can see the Occasions mini here.

I stamped the tea cup image and saying in Marina Mist.  I just love this color!  Then I layered the stamped image onto marina mist cardstock and layered this onto a piece of pretty in pink cardstock that I embossed using the Finial Press embossing folder.  NOTE:  this embossing folder is retiring so is only available until May 31st!

I highlighted the pink layer with a piece of vanilla cardstock trimmed with a piece of vanilla cardstock cut with the scalloped trim border punch.  These pieces are layered onto a piece of Beau Chateau Designer paper cut to card front size 4" x 5 1/4".  In this case since I am making two cards with this sketch, I looked through my ribbon stash and really like the polka dot ribbon with the Beau Chateau paper.  But I have two pieces that are different shades.  I found that the marina mist ribbon looked best on the lighter colored sample and the pretty in pink ribbon looked better  on the marina mist sample!

Technostamper Challenge

Happy Friday!!  I decided to combine the Technostamper challenge for the week with a swap for the new items that SU demos were able to pre-order.  These are items that will be available in April so stay tuned!!

This is the preview of the summer smooches designer paper and the Bright Blossoms stamp set.   I used the current in colors for this card.  Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, calypso coral and daffodil delight.  I used the Dream  from the Loving Thoughts stamp set.  These beautiful brads are covered with summer smooches designer fabric that matches the paper.  I will be making up a card kit with this set and designer paper...

I can't wait to see what other's have made with Mary Jo's sketch!

Technostamper Challenge 212

Happy Wednesday!!   This week's technostamper challenge is a very simple pattern which I really think came out nice!   And today, you get 2 for 1!  My friend Judy is here and so we both made a card using this sketch.  Since Judy doesn't have a blog - I will add her card to my blog.

 

I wanted to try out a couple of techniques that I have had on my To Do list and just haven't had the motivation to sit down and try.  I used the Bordering on Romance Stamp set and played around with Karen Barber's Marker Layering technique (featured on Spiltcoaststampers a couple of weeks ago).  I love the look of watercoloring but as one of those perfectionist's, don't like the way my watercoloring turns out!  LOL  Do any of us like our own artwork??

I stamped the flower image on watercolor paper with Black Stazon ink.  I used baja breeze and pear pizzazz markers to color the flowers.  The trick is to color the center edge of each petal and then draw the color out using a blender pen.  A beautiful technique.  It really pops when you use watercolor paper.  I have found that the blending isn't quite as smooth with regular whisper white paper.   I added a little bling with the jewels which I colored yellow using a permanent marker.

Then I cut a "frame" using the Labels Framelits and used baja breeze ink to distress the frame.  I really like the way this turned out.

Now my friend Judy also took on the challenge.  She made this beautiful card using the Fresh Vintage stamp set and Enchantment designer paper.  She colored the flower image with Poppy, Peach Parfait and Lucky Limeade.   Judy used the Labels framelits to cut out the floral image and a coordinating peach parfait layer.  She used Pearls to highlight the center of the flowers.

Technostamper Challenge #191

Hi - Well after a great meeting this morning with a couple of my downlines, I was very inspired.  So I sat down with Mary Jo's challenge for this week and used a new stamp set from the new catalog Cherish Friendship.  

And if you remember, I didn't have time to complete the sketch last week, but my friend Judy made a card.  Well I posted her card and entered it into Mary Jo's contest and she won!!! I am so proud that one of my friends/students won!! 
Here is Mary Jo's sketch for this week.  I turned it to a landscape format.

I used sahara sand, more mustard and cajun craze cardstock.  I used the Perfect penants die to cut the scalloped circle behind the image.  The stamp set is Cherish Friendship from the new catalog with the Spice Cake Designer paper from the Holiday mini catalog.  I love this fall paper and the colors and patterns.

I colored the image with a blender pen and watercolor crayons.  I used 3D glaze pens on the flowers to give them some depth.

Technostamper's Challenge #190

Good Morning!

Well this has been a very busy week.  I haven't had time to work  on Mary Jo's sketch challenge at www.technostamper.com this week.  Still on my to do list! 

But one of my friends, Judy Keown did complete the challenge and she does  not have a blog.  So.... I am posting her card for her!  Judy recently retired and has been a stamper for almost 9 years now. She is a very talented artist and also paints and does quilting.

She used the new Designer Paper Berry Blossoms which she says is her favorite new designer paper.

Technostamper Challenge 186

 Happy Tuesday!  I know that I haven't been posting much this summer.  I have been really busy...

But I am getting back into the Stampin' mode again!  So this week I am participating in Mary Jo's challenge again and hope to be each week going forward....

This week I used a couple of the new sets from the new Holiday mini catalog that will be coming out September 1st.

My Sister-in-law with neice and nephew are visiting, so they helped me break in my new toys!!

The first card I made using the Stitched Stockings set from the new mini catalog.  I just can't resist a stamp set that has a matching punch!  I never like to do all the cutting.

I used the new embossing folder from the mini for the background.  I then sprayed it with a little shimmer spray to add some sparkle.  I used the Holiday designer paper from the new catalog, Letters to Santa. 

The second card, my Sister-in-Law, Sarah, designed using the new Halloween set Howl-o-ween Creeps and the designer paper, pick your poison.  I love these cute little characters.

The third card, my neice Hannah (8) made using the same cardstocks that I used.  She took some scrap ribbon and braided it to make the ribbon across the bottom of the card.

I have been playing around with Mother's Day stamps this week.  Don't forget that Mother's Day is Sunday!  If you need a card, Friday night my open stamp night. Stop by and make a few cards.

Technostamper Challenge

This week I have taken the opportunity to do some design with a couple of the new stamp sets from the upcoming Summer Mini catalog.

So I am using Mary Jo's sketch from the tehcnostamper weekly sketch challenge.

I used the new stamp set On the Grow.  I can't resist flowers in a vase or pot.  I see either hydrangeas or pansies with these flowers.

I stamped the image in black and colored with watercolor crayons.  I cut the image in a circle and layered it onto a so saffron scallop circle.  The card base is certainly celery with a layer of pear pizazz designer paper.  The strip across the middle is blushing bride designer paper layered onto a piece of blushing bride cardstock.  I used certainly celery grosgrain ribbon with a couple of scraps of pretty in pink tied on each side of the celery knot.

I used dazzling diamonds glitter to add a little bling to the flowers and a couple of jewels to the bottom left corner of the card.
